A Debate Proposal from LPR

November 5, 2015 --

If Republican presidential debates are to continue with moderators from the mainstream media, it is apparent to LPR that referees are needed to call fouls on moderators.. LPR here offers to referee the debate contests between the Republican candidates to the... right, and the debate moderators to the...left.

LPR proposes that objections to questions or comments from the moderators can be made by the candidates -- or by the referee. The first time an objection against a moderator is sustained, the offender will be given a warning for being off-side, and the aggrieved will get two minutes of free time to respond.

A second sustained objection will charge the offender with unnecessary roughness, with the guilty moderator silenced for ten minutes, and the aggrieved given three minutes to respond.

A third sustained objection will have the offender ejected from the moderating panel for a flagrant foul.

Additionally, the guilty moderator will be required to make a $5,00 campaign contribution to his victim and the aggrieved will be given four minutes to respond.
