The 1.9 million votes for the Republican candidate represent a remarkable showing (and protest vote against Schumer) because, LPR ventures to suggest, that most voters in New York State did not know there was a race for the U.S. Senate until being handed the ballot, much less knowing that there was a GOP candidate named Joe Pinion running against the execrable Senate majority leader.

LPR's view: That Schumer did not get 4 million votes (a minimum of 80 percent) is a moral defeat for him.
