A Mid-Summertime Break

JULY 31, 2005 --

LPR is taking a break this week, and plans to be back in full form next week. (August 8)

To mark this point in a summer that is speeding along, LPR offers a photo of: sunflowers grown at the Sullivan Farm,
maintained by the New Milford (Ct.) Youth Agency for the Town of New Milford. at 140 Park Lane (Route 202).

Shown in the photo is Mark Mankin (l) director of the New Milford Youth Agency for 27 years, with Brad Webster, a junior at New Milford High School.

A second photo shows a serene green field at the farm.

Just a bit north of Sullivan Farm, LPR got a photo of Route 202, including a boat (for sale at $15,000) on the grass, left of the road.

And, here are two photos, exterior and interior, of the Thomaston Opera House, wonderful community theater which just
ended a run of "Oklahoma!" and next presents "Eleemosynary."

By the way -- Shuler Hensley, Tony-winner for his Jud, in the Broadway production of "Oklahoma!" a few years
ago, will next appear in "The Great American Trailer Park Musical," which opens September 20 in New York City at the Dodger Stages, 340 West 50th Street, previews starting August 20.

Happy Mid-Summer, LPR clicksters, in the USA, Canada, Australia (with special mention to George Elliot and his amusing film "The Crop"), France (merci to you), Hungary, everywhere.

And hooray for the spirit of Federalist 57--may officials in Washington, D.C. take notice of it before the end of summer. Including, of course, Fed Chairman Alan
Greenspan.

Driving along Route 202 in Connecticut, LPR captured this photo of a boat for sale (on the left.)
