More LPR Observations

March 19, 2019 --

On Meet the Press, March 10 former North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, as panelist on the program, had interesting criticism of "these new millennials" in the Democrat party. Calling them "AOC millennials," he said they "think they have all the answers, they think they already have wisdom." McCrory indicated that in his view wisdom comes with experience -- and age.

The former governor's mention of "AOC" referred to freshman representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who seems, at age 29, to have become the media's favorite House member, and is pushing for a Green New Deal that is intended to do away with fossil fuel, so as to thwart climate change and save humankind from disaster. Here LPR will go on record to disagree with the left's alarums on climate change.

The earth may be a medium-sized planet, but LPR believes it is still too vast to be endangered by the doings of mere mortals. That is not to say people cannot be responsible for polluting particular venues, but the entire planet? LPR does not think so. Stated differently, protecting the environment is a noteworthy endeavor, but the hysterical shrieks amounting "Gevalt, the sky is falling, " are not indicative of wisdom.

The New York Times reported on March 11 that President Trump is popular in Israel and is "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's secret weapon" in his uphill battle for re-election, April 9. Reason enough for assertions by certain "AOC millennials" that the president is under the influence of Mr. Netanyahu -- as well as of Russia's President Vladimir Putin, of course.
