NOVEMBER
13, 2005 --
The
New York International Independent Film and Video Festival
(NYIIFVF) is back for another week. The festival opened November
10 at Avalon and included the traditional New York Independent
Art Festival.
Screenings began November 11 and continue through November 17 at the Village
East Cinemas, on Second Avenue and 12th Street, in Manhattan.
The schedule, by LPR's count, has more
than 300 films ranging from films lasting a few minutes to full length features.
As at this festival, in the past, LPR met and photographed some of the directors
and actors who appear in these independent films. Directors caught by the LPR
camera include Robby Kushner, director of "On Moral Grounds" a documentary
about a Holocaust survivor's efforts to obtain restitution and some measure
of justice.
