Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year

LPR wishes its visitors (and may they grow exponentially in 2022, LPR's 19th year of commitment to the common good) a joyous holiday season, followed by a New Year of happiness, good health, low inflation, full employment, and, not least, the MAGA spirit of liberty.

Republicans, Stand with Donald J. Trump …

Ignore the false, phony, mendacious charges from Hillary Clinton and the Pravda-like media that you are a threat to the future of democracy in America.   (The real threat to American freedom comes from the left.). They are confident that, backed by the anti-free speech media,  they can intimidate you into accepting their lies.  Why?  Cheney and Kinzinger did. The left aims to browbeat you into submission with the result -- an end to our two-party system.  GOP members of Congress, be strong and of good cheer. You are the party of liberty. The Democrats are the anti-freedom party. They support dissent only when they are out of power. In power, the Democrats oppose dissent, oppose free speech, oppose diversity of thought.  What the Democrats mean by falsely accusing you of opposing democracy:  for the left, democracy means "power to the Democrats."

Would Gen. Washington have kept Benedict Arnold on his staff?

The Conservative Action Project has sent a letter to Kevin McCarthy asking him to oust Reps. Cheney and Kinzinger from the House Republican Conference -- for their service to Speaker Pelosi in undermining the Republican Party.   Here is the link to the letter, with some 50 signers.    (LPR would be pleased to join this important letter.)

A Special Notice to LPR Visitors …

Ocean First Bank is a small bank, but, as was said of Dartmouth College in the 19th century, "there are those who love it." And, now, LPR has added reason to feel partial to this nice bank. If you visit one of its offices, mine is at W 235th Steet, in the Riverdale area of The Bronx, and get the bank's calendar for 2022, you will find that the images with the months are all of dogs owned by depositors. And if you turn to the images for January, you will find two images of pets: one of the images being a very nice picture of Lulu.  So this is not an unsolicited ad but a heads-up -- for your own image of Lulu,  stop by an Ocean First branch for its 2022 clendar.  (Google "Ocean City First bank" for the locations.) The people are so nice, you might not have to open an account for the calendar -- but you couldn't have an account at a friendlier bank.

Happy Chanukah 5782

Chanukah always comes out on the 25th of Kislev (according to the lunar calendar) but varies according to the solar calendar, this year the eight-day festival beginning on the night of  November 27.

May the glow of the Chanukah candles (marking the miracle of the Temple light lasting eight days when there was oil for just one day) brighten the American spirit of freedom praised by Madison in Federalist No. 57, with particular emphasis on Congressional Republicans.

LPR's Buffalo, N.Y. visitors …

As of 5.30 a.m., November 30, LPR had a dozen visits from Buffalo, N.Y.   This can't be due to LPR being a big Bills fan. If that were known in Buffalo, the visits from that city would exceed the more than 2300 visits LPR received by November 30 from Shenzhen, China.   LPR. of course, will be rooting for the Bills to beat the Patriots, December 5 in Orchard Park, and reclaim first place -- even if this site doesn't go viral in Buffalo.  The Buffalo Bills, after all, is the only NFL franchise that plays its home games in the State of New York, and it's time the NYC media treated the Bills as the Empire State's team.   How about this?   The Bills to play one game each season in Yankee Stadium to underscore the fact that they're the only New York team in the NFL.

Just Wondering …

...now that we have the delta coronavirus variant, and omicron, too, will we be told we have to go through the entire Greek alphabet until it is safe to put our masks away, for good?

Western Journal  Corrects Biden on Mideast History But Omits Important Detail …

Western Journal  (WJ) noted that the president misspoke at a Chanukah event at the White House, saying he visited Prime Minister Golda Meir during the 1967 conflict.  WJ pointed out that Biden met with Meir in Israel during the 1973 fighting.  But WJ did not tell visitors that Levi Eshkol, not Meir, was prime minister in 1967. Now who will tell Biden he has his Israel prime ministers -- and conflicts -- mixed up?

Bernard Haitink …

This Dutch violinist and conductor died the past October 21, age 92  Among the orchestras he served as principal conductor were the London Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony.   Here is a 2013 video of Maestro Haitink conducting the French National Orchestra in Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, the "Eroica."
