Observations - June 2022

June 19, 2022 --

Good News -- Although the Tonys are Over, the Broadway Show League is Back.

Games are Thursdays at the Heckscher Softball Fields at the southwest corner of Central Park. Alas, the games were rained out on June 16, when LPR stopped by after a visit to his dentist, the estimable Dr. Bruce Paly.

For information on the BSL, please check broadwayshowleague.com.

Will we learn who really leaked those Democratic National Committee tidbits of information in 2016 -- and that claims of Russian hacking were just more disinformation from the Clinton campaign?

Trashing Due Process; aiding the charlatans of democratic government

The following appeared in a CNBC report June17:

"Retired federal Judge J. Michael Luttig, who advised Pence ahead of the Capitol riot, directly accused Trump and his allies of waging a “war on democracy” on Jan. 6, 2021. He called Trump a “clear and present danger” to American democracy."

LPR's view: this retired judge is a disgrace for testifying before the lawless, rules-assaulting "Jan. 6" inquisition, giving aid and comfort to the enemies of due process.

A link to the pomp, pageantry and spectacle of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.

Most of the first 90 minutes is taken up by the Trooping of the Colors. The queen first appears at about the 94-minute mark, and again, with Charles, young Prince Louis and others, at two hours and ten minutes with flyovers at this point, including jets forming a "70" to mark the queen's 70th anniverary on the throne of the United Kingdom.

On speculation that the motto of The New York Times will become "All the Anti-Trump False News Fit to Print"

The abandonment of major league baseball reporting by The New York Times does more than prompt speculation, here, that the Blue lady (formerly the Grey lady) has ceded sports coverage to the New York Post. LPR wonders if the end of MLB coverage in the Times is indication that the propaganda sheet will abandon to Rupert Murdoch the pretense that it remains a journalistic enterprise -- proof of which has been apparent ever since August 2016, when Jim Rutenberg issued on behalf of the ruling Sulzberger family the license to carry blatantly false news about the campaign, and later, the administration, of Donald J. Trump.

LPR learned the other day ...

... that Harrison Ford has a Jewish mother and so, by Jewish tradition, is Jewish.

Never heard of Amber Heard ...

... who now is in debt to Johnny Depp.

An Observation on McConnell Republicans …

President Trump would have defeated the deep's state's war on his conservative populism, and undone the harmful Russia policies of his predecessors, had you not worked to undermine his positive program. May August 16, and the primary loss of Liz Cheney, strike a blow, an enduring blow, against the domestic enemies of democratic government.
