LPR congratulates Alice Ripley ("Next to Normal) for winning the 2009 Tony for best actress in a musical. (And LPR hastens to add it is confident the image of Ms. Ripley posted in the last LPR had nothing to do with it.)

LPR also congratulates the other 2009 Tony winners, all the nominees -- indeed everyone who was part of the 2008-2009 Broadway season.

In this age of hi-tech, mind-boggling digitalized special effects (not that there is anything wrong with them), there is still something special about a live performance, -- that is to say, the essential bond linking actor and audience.
