Paul Krugman, began his April 1 New York Times column, at page A19, with these words:
"Modern movement conservatism, which transformed the G.O.P. from the moderate party of Dwight Eisenhower into the radical right-wing organization we see today, was largely born in California."

LPR's translation: Zealous liberals, beginning with the McGovern movement in 1972, have transformed the moderate Democratic party of Harry S Truman and John F. Kennedy into the radical left organization we see today. (The party of course, lost its wings some years ago.) |
