January 5, 2020 --
Retired radio shock jockey turned morning talk show host Don Imus died December 27 at his Texas home. He was 79 and had been on radio for half a century, except for the time of his suspension in 2007, after making an unfortunate comment about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
(For LPR, that remark was not proof that Imus was racist.)
LPR tried to cover the return of Imus to radio at the end of 2007, with a special broadcast at New York City's Town Hall.
